Currey was born in the United Kingdom, where he discovered fitness and bodybuilding. After getting his pro card in 2018, he made his IFBB Pro League debut in 2019 at the Yamamoto Cup Pro, where he placed seventh. He competed again one year later at the 2020 Europa Pro Championships, and he placed ninth. He was onstage four times in the 2021 season, with his highest placing coming at that year’s Tampa Pro, where he placed second.

2022 would be considered his breakout season. After a third-place finish in the Pittsburgh Pro, he won the New York Pro title and qualified for that year’s Classic Physique Olympia contest. He would finish that show outside of the top 15.

Currey’s star appeared to be rising, but he had yet to compete in the 2023 season. He had signed with Hosstile as a sponsored athlete in recent months, and there were rumors that he was considering a run in the Men’s Open division, but he never took to the stage in that category. Currey also worked as a bodybuilding coach for a variety of athletes in the amateur ranks.

Several members of the bodybuilding community paid homage to Currey in comments and posts on social media.
